Jujitsu hit me right in the kokoro

Today was one of the happiest day of my life as I discovered the world of jujitsu. It is a technique where you can defend yourself against opponent with or without weapon. The warm up took quite strength out of me and the most fascinating thing came when we started to practice arm and leg punches. Then it become even more amazing with learning techniques. I learned this day several techniques against punches and strangling and it was totally awesome. I will definitely take some more classes and we will see if I will continue to have classes on permanent basis.
Some interesting facts:

  • Jujutsu is a Japanese martial art and a method of close combat for defeating an armed and armored opponent in which one uses no weapon or only a short weapon.
  • Ju means gentle, soft, flexible and jutsu can be translated as art or technique.
  • Japanese jujutsu systems typically emphasis more on throwing, immobilizing and pinning, joint-locking, choking, and strangling techniques.
  • In jujutsu, practitioners train in the use of many potentially fatal moves. However, because students mostly train in a non-competitive environment, risk is minimized. Students are taught break falling skills to allow them to safely practice otherwise dangerous throws.
If you have some experience with any kin of martial arts, you are welcome to share it here :D
