The future: BIM-BAM-BOOM!

While the technology is evolving BIM potential finds its new curves as BAM and BOOM, which goes beyond the building design. As HOK Chief Executive Officer Patrick MacLeamy, FAIA describes the future:

The real promise of “BIM-BAM-BOOM!” is “better design, better construction, better operation.
BIM-BAM-BOOM consists of three main phases of the building life. The beginning starts with BIM when the architect performs numerous analysis of building performance using digital model to improve the design. When the model is handed over to the contractor for assembly building, it is called BAM or Building Assembly Model. The point where the construction is done and the documents have to be given to the client in the form of the digital model of the building is called BOOM or Building Operation Optimization Model. So the goal is to create a digital model which can be used in the whole life cycle of the building.
